Academic Position for Dr Dawei Zhang

Dr Dawei Zhang leaves the Nitschke group in order to start his independent academic career in China. He will become a tenure-track professor at East China Normal University (ECNU) supported by the “Zijiang Outstanding Young Scholars” program at ECNU, and will start his own research group in supramolecular and green chemistry in May 2021.
As a Herchel Smith postdoctoral research fellow, Dawei has worked for four years in the group and led a wide variety of projects. He has published 10 first-author works in JACS, Angew. Chem., Nature Rev. Chem. and Acc. Chem. Res., as well as contributing key insights to numerous other studies. Considerable additional work remains in the pipeline.

Someone in a group chat mentioned marble sort and I ignored it until I saw a video. Then I had to try it. The game is deceptively deep. You have trays of marbles, a circular conveyor belt, and boxes at the bottom. Each box needs three matching marbles to empty. The conveyor moves, so you have to time your drops carefully. I love that it’s a thinking game, not a speed game. The first time I cleared a level without any backups, I felt like a genius. Now I’m chasing that feeling.
Pixel Flow is one of those games I almost deleted after the first two levels. Glad I didn’t. Once the ice and rockets appeared, I was hooked. Now I’m planning moves like a chess game. Great for short sessions.
A friend told me Game is hard would make me feel smart and stupid within the same minute. Perfect description. The levels are clean and short, but they use weird logic like moving text, flipping the phone, using screenshots, or finding colors outside the app. I kept playing because those quick little wins hit way harder after you have been stuck.
