Yali Hou was born in 1993 in Shandong, China. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Taishan University in 2014 and her master’s degree from Nanchang University in 2018. She completed her Ph.D. at Xi’an Jiaotong University under the supervision of Prof. Mingming Zhang in 2022, where her research focused on the construction and photophysical modulation of coordination supramolecular assemblies. In the same year, she joined Xi’an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital as an assistant professor.

 

In March 2025, she joined the Nitschke Group at the University of Cambridge as a postdoctoral research associate supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Outside the lab, she enjoys swimming, travelling, and exploring local shops.
