Xiang Sun was born in 1991 in Taizhou, Jiangsu, China. In 2013, he graduated from Peking University with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. He then studied organic synthetic methodology at Peking University, where he earned a master's degree in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Ning Jiao. Following that, he relocated to Germany to pursue his Ph.D. in Prof. Tobias Ritter's lab at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. Dr. Sun received the Walter Benjamin fellowship in 2022 and began his postdoctoral career in supramolecular chemistry at Cambridge University with Prof. Jonathan Nitschke. Outside the lab, he likes playing basketball, table tennis, and mahjong.
