Nianfeng Ouyang was born in Hebei, China. She obtained her bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Tianjin University in 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Chi-Hau Sue. During her time in Sue group, she studied on the selectivity of pillararenes. During her undergraduate study, she also went to the University of Queensland, Australia, as an exchange student funded by China Scholarship Council, where she engaged in a research project on marine biology. She joined Jonathan group in October 2021 as an MPhil student funded by China Scholarship Council and Cambridge Trust jointly.
