Dante joins the Nitschke group from his hometown of New York, NY. After developing a fruitful career in technology journalism, he decided to pursue his passion for chemistry at Columbia University. He studied as a Hettena Scholar and graduated summa cum laude in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts. In recognition of his achievements both academically and beyond, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society and was one of three graduates to receive Departmental Honors in Chemistry.

In October 2019, Dante began an MPhil (Masters) by Research at the University of Cambridge Department of Chemistry, where he seeks to undertake a PhD. His work centers on modification of metal-organic cages to generate well-controlled reversible supramolecular systems with desirable material properties that may be relevant in difficult chemical separations.

Outside the lab, Dante is an ambitious solo traveller; he enjoys finding low-cost flights to new destinations, where he can explore new cultures, foods, and ways of living, that he hopes to use to enrich his own life. Additionally, he considers himself an amateur cinephile (he once worked as a film projectionist at an arthouse movie theater). He remains a technology enthusiast and is always looking to hone his abilities as a photographer.
