Lillian grew up in Shenzhen (China) and came to Cambridge as an undergraduate in Natural Sciences, in which she enjoys Zoology and Chemistry the most. Her previous research experiences have covered a range of fields from Synthetic Biology (iGEM silver medallist in 2018) to Ecology. Specialising in Chemistry in the third year, Lillian has found an interest in Organometallic Chemistry, especially in building transition metal complexes and probing their behaviours. For Part III project Lillian joined Nitschke’s Group to work on Cu (I) complexes with non-planar ligands, under the supervision of Huangtianzhi.

In her spare time, Lillian enjoys ballet, bird watching and trekking.
