Wojtek finished his BSc studies at the University of Wrocław under supervision of Dr. hab. Miłosz Pawlicki. His research focused on synthesis and characterization of highly π-conjugated macrocycles (mostly porphyrinoids) that change their properties after application of stimulus (light, protonation/deprotonation, redox process) and lead to changes in globally aromatic character. In the meantime, he was preparing XIV High School in Wroclaw’s students to start in a National Chemistry Olympiad. During holidays 2018/2019 he took part in a summer internship under auspices of Kupcinet-Getz International Summer School at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel under supervision of Prof. Rafal Klajn where he was working on specific interaction between a cage and a guest chromophore molecules.
Wojtek joined the Nitschke group as an MPhil student at Christ's College in October 2019.
